I come from humble beginnings and have no formal education. So I know first hand just how difficult life can be when you do not have the right tools required to become successful. But I consider myself very fortunate because through books, classes, life experience and training programs I was able to break myself free from the cycle of poverty and through entrepreneurship was able to change my life and the future of my children. I know the grim reality of what my life would be like had I not pursued some form of education which is why it’s my mission, and passion to help empower others so that they too can have the opportunity to live their lives at full potential. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL where I was a single mom on welfare by the age of 16. I was married at 20 and by the time I was 26 I had two children, had escaped an abusive marriage and was back on welfare, barely able to support my children. With no money, or definite place to live I decided to take a risk and moved myself and my children to Charlotte, NC to make a fresh start. That’s where I began my own real estate business out of my tiny two-bedroom apartment. I had no budget and my clients came from knocking on doors. But with persistence and determination my sales began to grow and so did my clientele and for the first time in my life I was off welfare. It’s been almost 12 years and I’ve never looked back!
